The Jesus Encounters: Ep 01–12
The Christmas Encounters: Ep 13–15
Luke 7:1–10
In this passage Jesus has an encounter with a Roman centurion (although they never meet face to face), where we discover the unusual faith of the centurion and the equally bewildering unbelief of those who should have known better. In the process we also learn from the centurion's humility as well as the similarities and differences of worldly authority and the authority of Jesus.
Luke 24:13–35
In this passage Jesus encounters two disciples who have left Jerusalem for Emmaus. They left hopeless and despondent because Jesus had been killed and their dreams had been shattered. And yet, along the way Jesus rescues them from their spiritual blindness and reveals Himself in the Scriptures and the breaking of the bread, showing them that it was necessary for Jesus to suffer and then enter His glory.
Luke 5:17–26
In this passage from Luke Jesus encounters a paralytic where we are taught much about faith and who Jesus is. Jesus is not a mere miracle worker but God alone who has the power to not only heal us physically but spiritually too.
Luke 5:1–11
In this message Jesus encounters Peter and moves him from observer of Jesus to leaving everything behind and following Him. It's a move Jesus calls all of His followers to.
Luke 4:14–22; 31–44
During the height of His ministry Jesus asked His disciples, "who do people say that I am?" It's a vital question. We attempt to answer it this fall in a series we're calling "The Jesus Encounters, a panorama of the gospel of Luke."
