Revelation

The Unveiling

“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3).

Few books in the Bible trigger as much fascination, confusion and fear as the book of Revelation does. Yes, there are some, who can’t get enough of it but more frequently are those who shy away from it altogether. If you’re part of this second group don’t beat yourself up, you’re not alone.

But sadly, when we choose to shy away from it we miss out on so much of the beauty and wonder that’s unveiled in it. To borrow from Darrel Johnson and his book, Discipleship on the Edge, no other book presents the gospel as powerfully as Revelation does. No other book portrays Jesus as clearly and compellingly as Revelation does. And no other book crystallizes what it means to be a follower of Jesus in this world more than Revelation does.

The plan for this series is to go through Revelation chapters 1-5 this Fall but depending on the response we may carry on in the new year. We pray that this will be a rich series for all who participate.

September 14, 2025

As we launch a new ministry year this Sunday we also begin a news series on Revelation 1-5. In today's message we highlight the unique nature of Revelation, what we need to know about it, and why this book is not only a blessing but so relevant today.
